Venue Questions
How far in advance can we book a wedding?
We take bookings into 2028 and 2029. Dates that far out are honoured at our 2027 rates when you secure them with a deposit — $500 for weddings — so booking early locks in today's pricing. Note the event centre is closed October 2026 through February 2027 for expansion; March 2027 onward is open.
Where is your wedding venue located in central Alberta?
Prairie Junction is at 4402 50 Street in Stettler, Alberta — about one hour from Red Deer, Camrose, Lacombe, and Ponoka, two hours from Edmonton, and two hours fifteen from Calgary. It's within walking distance of downtown Stettler.
What makes Prairie Junction different from other central Alberta wedding venues?
Your guests sleep on-site. Along with the 1,000 sq ft heated hall and outdoor ceremony setting, the property has four themed cabins, glamping units, full-hookup RV sites, and a group camping area — so nobody arranges designated drivers or books hotel rooms in another town. There's also a private hydrotherapy spa on site.
Do you host small weddings and elopements?
Yes. The hall comfortably seats 60+, and intimate ceremonies at the Boardwalk & Church work beautifully for smaller groups. Call (403) 742-8855 and we'll price an elopement or vow renewal for you.
Can we have an outdoor wedding ceremony?
Yes — the Prairie Junction Boardwalk & Church is our outdoor ceremony setting, with the pergola and open prairie grounds nearby for photos. The heated hall is your indoor backup if Alberta weather does what Alberta weather does.
How much does it cost to rent the event centre?
For non-wedding events the Event Centre and Pergola rent at $100/hour, $450 for a half day, or $1,000 for a full day. Wedding bookings include the grounds and group camping, starting at $2,500 for a 2026 wedding day and $3,500 for 2027. Adding the group camping area starts at $1,500 for one night, and the whole-resort Prairie Junction Takeover is $15,000 for two days. Build your own estimate with our event pricing tool.
What is the cancellation policy?
Weddings: full refund minus the $500 deposit at 90+ days, 50% refund between 30 and 89 days, non-refundable inside 30 days. Other events: full refund minus the $250 deposit at 7+ days, 50% between 7 days and 24 hours, non-refundable inside 24 hours.
How many guests does the event centre hold?
The heated 1,000 sq ft hall comfortably hosts 60+ guests — and with a rented event tent on the group area, we easily host 300+ for weddings and large gatherings.
Can we hold our ceremony on-site?

Normally yes — the heated venue books year-round. Note: the event centre is closed October 2026 through February 2027 for our expansion. Winter dates reopen March 2027; cabins, sites, and the spa stay open all winter.
How does payment work?
A deposit holds your date — $500 for weddings, $250 for other events — and events totalling $1,000 or under are paid in full. Weddings pay 50% four months out, other events one month out, with the balance due 48 hours before. A refundable damage deposit applies. Locals get special pricing — call (403) 742-8855.
